Pharmacy Error Claims

Over the course of my practice in personal injury law I have had several clients call with complaints that the pharmacy gave them the wrong prescription or wrong dose of medication prescribed by their doctor. In a nutshell, their doctor wrote them a prescription for X and unbeknownst to them they walked out of the pharmacy with Y! As a result of the pharmacy error my father was admitted to the hospital and had to stay for several days. In the end the pharmacy paid only for his medical bills. Was that fair?
